LAKE EXPRESS FERRY'S FIFTH SEASON HEADS INTO FINAL WEEKS: WITH S.S. BADGER SEASON COMPLETE, LAKE EXPRESS THE ONLY FERRY OPERATING ON LAKE MICHIGAN
Starting Monday, October 13th, the Lake Express high speed ferry is alone on Lake Michigan as it heads into the last three weeks of its 2008 operating season. With the other Lake Michigan ferry option, the coal powered S.S. Badger, having now having ended its season, Lake Express is the lone option for travelers looking for a cross lake shortcut around Chicago traffic and congestion. The high speed auto ferry will continue to offer daily 2-1/2 hour crossings through Sunday, November 2nd, when its fifth season will come to a close.
The South Dakota Office of Tourism has launched the South Dakota Pheasantennial, a celebration of 100 years of pheasant hunting in the state. The promotion will include special hunts, community celebrations and the Pheasantennial finale where enthusiasts will compete to win a hunt with television host, Ron Schara.
